Marathon Update Release Apr 6, 2023¶
Highlights¶
On-Demand Asset Failure Reports¶
- Asset Failure Reports can now be optionally generated from imported Asset Failure Events. These Asset Failure Reports summarize pre-configured information for the specified asset based on the associated historical data in Marathon across the asset’s lifetime.
- Generated reports appear under the new Reports menu tab when they are ready to view. Upon generation, reports are set to status Open and can be moved to status Closed via a Dismiss button as with Events.
- Individual reports allow commenting and tagging of colleagues in a right-hand Activity panel as with Events and Investigations.
- Individual reports summarize three classes of information in separate tabs:
- Asset Summary: displays information received from the imported failure record. This includes support for time-indexed tables which will display in a timeline view.
- Performance: displays the output for any custom calculations performed on time-series sensor data for the asset across its lifetime, as well as displaying the associated time-series data. The calculations can account for the case where an asset has moved location over its lifetime provided that information is included in the imported failure report.
- Event History: summarizes the Investigations and Events generated by Marathon that are associated with this asset across its lifetime.
Custom Time Zone Selection¶
- Marathon users can adjust the time zone setting in their current browser session via a dropdown selector to view time-series and other relevant timestamps in a time zone other than the default for the web browser being used.
- This allows clear communication between users in different time zones when reviewing equivalent information such as Events or Investigations by allowing them to have the flexibility to choose a common reference.
Detailed Event Descriptions¶
- More general event type descriptions which show on the Event Detail & Activity window can now be configured in Marathon with support for Markdown formatting. This allows greater flexibility in documenting within the application relevant information for any given Event.
- As part of this update the Event Detail & Activity window has been redesigned with the following modifications:
- Detail and Activity (which include comments) are on separate selectable tabs in the Event screen.
- The Event Dismiss button and Event Duration information have moved from the main Event page to the Event Detail tab.
Fixes¶
- In the merged view for time-series with multiple graphs, Event overlay colors will no longer show as less transparent than those with a single time-series.
- None severity Events will no longer appear as colored blue on Asset Cards.
Known Issues¶
- Time zone selection will not currently update the displayed timestamps for the Alert Stream or Asset Failure Reports.
- Selecting both open and closed filters for Investigations and Reports will return no results instead of the expected behavior of showing all results.
- The Event Analysis chart Event Frequency Timeline is not filtering correctly based on user selected filters.
- On application load or browser refresh Events can sometimes take at least one minute to become visible in the application.
- Generating a comparison from Asset search or drag and drop will produce a data loading error if that action causes the application to attempt to render approximately 130 or more time-series charts simultaneously.
Upgrade Instructions¶
- Marathon updates automatically, so no manual steps are required.
